The Polaris ("P" Series) line of headsets look the same as standard "H" series headset but they are wired differently because they are un-amplified and do not require an amplifier. The Polaris headsets also come with a Quick Disconnect connector to modular plug cable so you can quickly and easily unplug and plug back to your telephone. The Polaris version plugs into the "Headset" port rather than through the "Handset" port. The NEC DSX and NEC Aspire Systems do not require an amplifier, and have the Polaris headset plug under the telephone.
